Bert has more than 20 years of experience in the real estate markets across Texas. Bert is responsible for account development and management in the government and education sectors in the Texas ERCOT market.

Prior to joining Acclaim (formerly LEGACY Energy Solutions), Bert served as president of A.L.K Interests, Inc., which provides commercial real estate services to developers, property owners and tenants. During his real estate career, he negotiated more than 3.2 million square feet of lease transactions while managing business development activities for A.L.K Interests. Bert’s knowledge of the issues facing developers and property management companies provides valuable insight into the energy issues confronting the real estate industry.

Bert served on the Houston City Council, where he was chairman of the Technology, Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. He also served as a director for the Houston-Galveston Area Council where he was chairman of the Emergency Preparedness Committee leading the development of the region’s first Responder Plan for Governor Rick Perry’s Homeland Security Task Force. A native Houstonian, Bert received his bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Texas in Austin and attended Brookside College in Cambridge, England.
